The Ranch gets a new landscape with a Waterwise design
It all begins with an idea.
Here at Wolf Botanical, we've embarked on an exciting journey at Solas Ranch in Rancho Santa Fe, a project that's as grand as it is transformative. This ambitious endeavor spans years, aiming to revolutionize the landscape with plant aesthetics, production and functionality.
Out with the Grass, In with Waterwise Wisdom
One of the primary goals of this project is reducing turf grass lawn, which can be water-guzzlers in our arid Southern California climate. Instead, we're embracing waterwise landscaping. Opting for drought-tolerant plants that not only conserve water but also thriving in our efficient drip irrigation ecosystem
Better Drainage, Better Living
Waterwise plants aren't just about water conservation; they're also integral to improving drainage. Properly selected and positioned, these plants can help manage water runoff efficiently, mitigating erosion and preserving the integrity of your landscape. French drains have been added for the massive flooding that was happening, which proved themselves during this last storm. Lastly utilizing rock Swales collects water and adds a fun contrast to the landscape.
A Grand Entrance Unveiled
As this makeover progresses, we're proud to share that the side yard is now completed, revealing a stunning new entrance to the Ranch house. It's a transformation that blends beauty and balance. The new entrance welcomes guests with an inviting atmosphere, showcasing the lush greenery and specimen plants that have become the hallmark of this project.
Specimen Plants: The Crown Jewels
Central to the landscape makeover are the specimen plants we've carefully integrated into the landscape. These unique and extraordinary plants serve as the crown jewels of the design, adding character, elegance, and individuality to the space. Each plant has been meticulously selected to contribute to the overall aesthetic while thriving in our waterwise vision.
The Journey Continues
Though we've reached an exciting milestone with the completion of the side yard, our work at the Ranch is far from finished. Months of dedication, planning, and hard work lie ahead as we continue to breathe new life into this beautiful property.
Stay tuned as we document the progress of this remarkable project. From water conservation to landscape aesthetics, our journey at the Solas Ranch in Rancho Santa Fe exemplifies our commitment to creating outdoor spaces that are not only beautiful but also environmentally responsible.
